Today the most recent luxury-street collab released featuring Palace & Ralph Lauren sporting everyday-wear for the masses. With a price range between $53 - $475 USD the collab is another big move for burgeoning fashion & skate powerhouse Palace, founded by Lev Tanju, coming only months after their hyped Adidas collaboration. This blend, or rather takeover of high-fashion by streetwear brands is proving to be the winning trend for the industry going into the next decade & this project is no exception.
The lookbook featured many of the Palace skate team: Chewy Cannon, Lucien Clarke, Rory Milanes, and Juan Saavedra riding majestic horses which are highly symbolic of the Polo brand & posting up against their own Palace-mobile. The energy around this collection seems to be movement. Whether it's representative of the travel of these brands around the world, the wearability of the collection as one moves throughout the day, or just a coincidental stroke of genius, the collection has a certain energy that will surely move you to become a fan of these brands again.
Tanju himself said in an interview for Business of Fashion that Ralph Lauren always inspired him for being such a versatile brand & product. Palace products are known for their common themes of reversible features & useful technology incorporated into the designs. This is what separates Palace from many other skate-wear & street-wear brands, which can often fall into the category of over-hyped graphic t-shirts brands, Palace instead brings luxury to the table. Some of our favorite pieces from the collection include the sweater featuring the Polo bear doing a kickflip in a suit & the multi-colored Pajama Bottoms accented with horses & saddle straps.
